The Sanetti Plateau: An Afro-Alpine Wonderland

Drive or hike across the vast, otherworldly expanse of the Sanetti Plateau, often called the "Roof of Africa." This high-altitude wilderness, sitting over 4,000 meters above sea level, feels like a moonscape dotted with giant lobelia plants and shimmering alpine lakes. The 75km-long road that crosses it is the highest all-weather road in Africa. The air is thin and crisp, the silence is profound, and the views are endless.
🎯 The Star Attraction: This is the best place on Earth to see the Ethiopian Wolf. These elegant, russet-colored hunters are critically endangered, with over half of the world's population living right here. Seeing one streak across the plateau is a heart-stopping moment.
🐾 Other Wildlife: Giant Mole-rats (the wolf's favourite snack), soaring Lammergeyers (bearded vultures), and the majestic Verreaux's Eagle.
